Mossbank Meadow Tales
Book 2 - A free story for little readers
Snuggle up with Pip, Daisy and Barnaby as evening falls on Mossbank Meadow - then sing Twinkle in the Moss together.
Featuring Pip the Robin, Daisy the Hedgehog & Barnaby the Badger
The sun went down at Mossbank Oak.
The stream went shhh, a sleepy stroke.
Daisy yawned a little sigh.
"Time for bed," the owl flew by.
Pip splashed his wings so clean.
Daisy brushed her prickles keen.
Barnaby hung his waistcoat neat.
"Wash your paws before we meet."
They sat beneath the Mossbank tree.
Barnaby said, "Story for three?"
Daisy opened her favourite book.
Pip gave Daisy a gentle look.
Daisy hugged her teddy tight.
Pip tucked in his scarf just right.
Barnaby fluffed his cosy nest.
"Now we rest," he said, "our best."
Stars peeped out above the lane.
Soft and silver, calm and plain.
"Twinkle, twinkle," Daisy said.
"Time to rest your sleepy head."
Daisy hummed a mossy tune.
Underneath the silver moon.
Pip and Barnaby listened slow,
as night winds whispered soft and low.
"Goodnight, stream. Goodnight, oak tree.
Goodnight, friends, from all of we."
The meadow sighed a gentle hush.
Night fell soft on Mossbank bush.
Sing slowly and softly
Twinkle in the moss, so deep,
Time for little friends to sleep.
Close your eyes and breathe so slow,
Mossbank meadow, soft and low.
Hush now, Pip. Hush, Barnaby.
Daisy sings so tenderly.
Stars above the oak tree shine,
Sleepy friends in bed by nine.
Twinkle, twinkle, mossy light,
Guard our dreams throughout the night.
Till the morning sun appears,
Mossbank meadow, dry your tears.
